A Few Thoughts on Classical Metaphysics

I’ve been really spending a lot of time in the world of classical metaphysics – Plato, Aristotle, et al. Compared to (most) contemporary metaphysics (notably the analytic tradition), there is a real sense of fullness. For example, the concept of existence, which in most contemporary analytic philosophy amounts to the instantion of the property of existence (Frege had a lot to do with this). This feels remarkably like a skeleton, though obviously it is important to understand the grammar of existence-talk.
